Reflejos Bilingual Journal has served the Chicago suburban Latino market for 20 years. As a sister publication to the Daily Herald our circulation, community relations and editorial content mirrors the same suburban perspective that has proven successful for Illinois' third largest mainstream daily newspaper in building readership and advertisers goals of reaching our growing suburban marketplace.
Reflejos weekly format reaches over 230,000 (CVC Audit) suburban Latino readers. Our bilingual format appeals to first , second and third generation Latinos, which reflects a majority of our readership demographics in suburban Latino households as well as high school/college/ESL students.
Reflejos Bilingual Journal is the largest and longest running Latino publication in the Northwestern Chicago Founded in Elgin in 1990 the publication started out as a local community based paper. In 1996 the format of Reflejos became a bilingual publication to better meet the demographic needs within the Latino communities it served.
In June of 2000, Reflejos joined the Paddock Publications family as a wholly owned subsidiary (Paddock is also the publisher of the Daily Herald, Illinois' third largest daily newspaper) and began expanding circulation and editorial coverage into the current seven county suburban region (Kane, McHenry, Northwest Cook, DuPage, Kendall, Will & Lake counties).
Since 1996 Reflejos Bilingual Journal has maintained an editorial focus which highlights the success and accomplishments of Latinos in our communities. Coverage of hard news items is done , with a solution-based perspective, which fairly represents the various issues and perspectives.
Reflejos enjoys a unique relationship with area school districts as teachers and instructors actively use Reflejos as a language acquisition tool within their respective classrooms, from grade school through college.
Through the years, Reflejos has also won over a dozen national awards for editorial, feature and community news coverage through the National Association of Hispanic Publications competing with over 168 other publications serving Latino communities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Over 79,000 copies of Reflejos are delivered to area Latino retail stores, local business offices, municipal & community centers, libraries & park districts, as well as hospitals and clinics – all places where the publication has been requested for business patrons on a weekly basis.
Over 21,000 copies of Reflejos are delivered and available in our area through over 435 free standing newsstands.
